Testimonies

I cannot recommend Carol Barwick and the work she did in supporting primary schools R.E. and P.S.H.C.E. highly enough; I had the privilege of working with her some years ago in Bradford. The school was a large multi-ethnic/multi-racial school in the inner city and it would be fair to say that Carol’s inputs into the assemblies was often a highlight of the week. Her resources were always well thought out and pertinent to the areas covered. Leading assemblies for children between the ages of
4 and 11 is never easy; as what an 11-year-old understands is very different to that of a 4-year-old. Carol however was an expert in engaging all and as anyone in the teaching profession knows this relies very much on careful planning and resourcing.
The materials Carol used were always of a high quality and provided meaningful and insightful learning opportunities and times of reflection for the children. In fact, the adults sitting in on these assemblies were also often touched and challenged by the thought-provoking experience of being in the room and sharing the time with the children.
I started by saying that I recommend Carol’s work to you, and I want to finish by reiterating that, take time to have a look – you won’t be sorry.

Carol is lovely and a very enthusiastic teacher. I started singing lessons as I have Long Covid, which makes breathing a difficulty at times. The lung physio recommended lessons to help. And I decided it would be good to just do something for myself as well.

Carol is kind, fun and a good teacher. I really recommend her.

Working with Carol (Raise) is professional and reliable. We ran a group together for young people who’s parents have mental health problems. They weren’t young carers as such but needed support to understand their parents’ issues. Raise helped and supported the young people so they have a healthier and understanding relationship with their parents. This enables the child to flourish in all aspects of their growth as a young person. We have seen such an improvement in their achievement in school and their families’ relationship with school. Thank you Raise…”

I had so much fun being part of one of Carol’s ‘Raise Your Voice’ choirs. It gives you a chance to spend time with a great bunch of people with the same interests as you whilst learning new songs and singing techniques. Carol is a great, friendly leader and she is very inventive with the stuff you do. She was a source of inspiration for when I led my own singing group!

I can’t recommend Raise enough to help you develop and deliver life changing programmes and activities for children. Led by Carol who is an incredibly experienced deliverer, she has helped us at e:merge develop relevant resources and has had an incredible impact on many young people. If you need support and ideas for work with children in schools or in the community then look no further.

The Raise and Shine story time album came into our lives at the perfect time- just like Carol herself did! It’s inspired, inspiring and fun and the songs are written with a wealth of experience behind them which makes them beautiful and real. Me and my nearly one year old are looking forward to the next album.

I am taking my power of helping people with their work, to secondary school, so that they don’t struggle.
